Drake 'Follows Through' With High School Graduation Speech

After spending the majority of the year screaming YOLO, Drake hit on a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and returned to high school to get the diploma that he left behind when he dropped out of Toronto's Forest Hill Collegiate Institute to star in "Degrassi: The Next Generation."

"It's not necessarily about the books that you'll read or the science or math equations that you'll do, because you may end up taking a path in life where a lot of the things that you'll learn you can't necessarily fully apply," Drake said during his graduation speech, which made its way online as a viral video this weekend. "What this is about today, for all of you is about the art of following through."

Drake went on to address the crowd at Jarvis C.I., expressing the utmost pride. "I reached a point in my life where I realized that there aren't material things that can give me the excitement that I'm looking for. There's a void, a gap in my life that I needed to fill," he said. "It was the fact that I had left a gaping whole in my story following through."

Well, Drizzy followed through in a big way and passed his course with flying colors. "97% percent on my final exam. 88% in the course. One of the greatest feelings in my entire life. As of tonight I have graduated high school," Drake tweeted on October 17.

Though the OVO spitter is no stranger to giving speeches, like the one he gave at the 2012 VMAs for winning Best Hip-Hop Video, this one was a tad more personal as he dedicated his diploma to the #1 lady in his life. :"This piece of paper I'd like to dedicated to my mother, because she's a retired teacher and always wanted me to graduate," he said as the crowd cheered. "I think I'll sleep a little better tonight knowing that I found a way to follow through."
