MIAMI — Lil Wayne's welcome-home party had all the requirements for an epic bash, from beautiful women to high-profile rap celebrities to enough luxury vehicles out front that someone could start a multimillion-dollar car service.
The glitz wasn't lost on Drake: The Lil Wayne protégé sported his finest Tom Ford duds for the event.
"I had to suit up for the boy," Drake told before stepping inside. "This is great. This is the celebration. This is the night we all get to have fun. I'm officially off duty. I'm here to have fun and celebrate a great, phenomenal, legendary man. That's why I had to get dressed up."
Drake was among the many in attendance for Weezy's party, located at the Alfred I. DuPont Building in downtown Miami.
Nicki Minaj, Cool & Dre, DJ Khaled and the Birdman were all there to fete the recently freed rapper. Wayne was jovial on the red carpet beforehand. Weezy walked in flanked by two women dressed Mardi Gras outfits as a nod to his New Orleans heritage.
"I just wanna thank everybody," Wayne told correspondent Sway Calloway. "Not only MTV fans, but the fans across the whole world. Most of all, my family. I couldn't do it without them, and I would never do it without them."
