Drake has slammed people for misinterpreting his reaction to Madonna's passionate Coachella kiss.
The 28-year-old rapper performed at the California music event on Sunday night, bringing Madonna, 56, out for a mini-set in the middle of his show. He sat on a chair as she sang Express Yourself, culminating in her grabbing his head and going in for a deep kiss. Videos of the encounter soon went viral as Drake crinkled his face afterwards and ferociously wiped his mouth, but he's not insisted that wasn't what it looked like.
"Don't misinterpret my shock!!" he captioned an image of the clinch on Instagram. "I got to make out with the queen Madonna and I feel 100 about that forever. Thank you @madonna (sic)."
Twitter went into meltdown after the smooch, with many people poking fun at Drake's apparent reaction. Gifs of the encounter flooded the site, with some jokers suggesting Drake would likely never sit down again in case the same thing happened.
Madonna hasn't taken the ridicule lying down though, and has used social media to comment on it.
She posted a furious quote on Instagram, allowing it to do the talking rather than adding any caption.
"If you don't like me and still watch everything I do. B***h you're a fan," it read.
The star then added a black-and-white image of a woman in a trouser suit, complete with waistcoat, shirt and tie. The female stood fully clothed in the middle of a room of men, who were naked save for skimpy underwear and suspenders.
"I m not your b***h...,,,,,... Don't hang your sh*t on me. Not then.., #unapologeticb***h (sic)," she captioned it.
Madonna and Drake's kiss came after she revealed her one aim in life was to have a date with the rapper during a magazine interview.
