Drake's appearance on New York City radio station Hot 97's "In Flex We Trust" on Thursday night was all about the women in his life.
The rapper took the opportunity to debut new single "Make Me Proud," which features a guest verse from Young Money label mate Nicki Minaj.
But pressed by DJ Funkmaster Flex, Drake said he's not dating tennis pro Serena Williams--or former flame Rihanna, stating he's now just "super-good friends" with the singer.
"I think she's got her own thing going on," he told DJ Funkmaster Flex. "I haven't caught up with her in a while."
As for Williams, with whom he was spotted at the U.S. Open in August, he said playing tennis is "really good exercise," but denied her recent so-called "booty-popping tape" was filmed at his home.
"The wood is actually a walnut in my condo," he laughed.
The "Marvin's Room" rapper also weighed in on mentor Lil Wayne and Jay-Z's recent beef, played out in their respective tracks "It's Good" and "H.A.M."
"I really just did my verse over the beat," Drake said of "It's Good," a track from Lil Wayne's "The Carter IV." "I'm a soldier for Wayne, he put me here, so i did what i had to do and what he does with the song after that is completely up to him… I think Wayne, who is never afraid to step up to the plate, did what he did back and that's what hip-hop is about. I have the utmost respect for Jay, he's a brother to me."
(Hov himself played off the beef at the Shawn Carter Foundation's Making the Ordinary Extraordinary fundraiser in September, telling MTV News, "That's sport. That's rap music.")
And Drake shrugged off his own potential beef, a freestyle by Clipse's Pusha-T rumored online to be aimed at the young rapper.
"I listened to it and i couldn't pick it out, i couldn't pick out where I was supposed to be offended," Drake said. "I'm a fan of the Clipse. If it's directed at me, make it a little more direct next time."
Drake will have the chance to take shots of his own with the release of sophomore album "Take Care," due Nov. 15 on Cash Money Records/Young Money Entertainment/Universal Records.
