After spinning at Versace for Fashion's Night Out, Drake released two new songs, "Club Paradise" and "Free Spirit," and a remix to Waka Flocka Flame's "Round of Applause."
"Club Paradise," produced by Noah '40' Shebib, finds Drake in a familiar state, rhyming of the insincerity that comes with fame. "Certain rappers would call me to say 'what up though?'/ I used to brag about it to my friends/ And now I'm feeling like all these ni**as cut-throat/ And maybe thats all they do is just pretend/ Damn," Drizzy raps.
Meanwhile, Drake introduces his second song, "Free Spirit," also produced by 40, with a quote from Princess Diana, "I like to be a free spirit. Some don't like that, but that's the way I am." Drizzy and Rick Ross tell their ladies to "tat" their name on themselves so they "know it's real," while the rappers come and go as a "free spirit."
Less than an hour after the release of "Free Spirit" on Sunday (Sept. 11), Drake released a remix to Waka Flocka's "Round of Applause." "First Lex Luger beat I ever got to rap on...feel like I got seat B60 on Southwest...everybody has gone in before me...but we made it happen! [sic]" Drake said of the remix.
