Singer Jade Castrinos has parted ways with Edward Sharpe + The Magnetic Zeros, and not in the most amicable of splits, with the band member being ditched from the band by email.
Castrinos had been part of the band for seven years, and fans had questioned her absense from recent live shows. The singer has reportedly explained her departure on her personal Instagram page (MaryJade143), which is a private account. Sources report Castinos posted a photo with the caption: "for seven years i sang and wrote music with edward sharpe. they voted me off of tour a week before they left, via email. lol"
Band member Alexander Ebert has seemingly contested her version of accounts, however, posting on the band's Facebook page and telling fans that her version of events left 'a lot of things to the imagination'. See his statement below.
"Jade has spoken out about not being on this tour. Her statement left a lot of things to the imagination. Out of respect for Jade, I will keep it that way.
Only we must now explain that simply and sadly, we did not feel right doing this tour with Jade. That fact breaks my heart in ways I don't want to describe.
With hope with all of ourselves that we reunite with Jade again, free-spirited, and with that daring love that is our only foundation.
love for you all.
Alexander Ebert"
