Singer Ellie Goulding suspects Noel Gallagher's recent insult against her is some type of publicity stunt.
The 48-year-old Oasis rocker slammed a slew of modern day musicians recently, telling Esquire UK: "Does anybody give a f**k about what any of these current pop stars are up to? Who gives a s**t what f**king One Direction do? C**ksuckers, all of them in rehab by the time they're 30. Who gives a s**t what Ellie Goulding is up to? Really? Adele, what? Blows my f**king mind. Nobody cares! Fame's wasted on them."
But Ellie had a personal interaction with Noel that seems to discount pretty much everything he said about her.
"Noel came up to me at the Brit Awards two years ago and said, 'I love your music — but don't f**king tell anyone'," she recalled to UK newspaper The Sun.
Ellie is convinced many celebrity feuds are completely made up by tabloids, because most stars she comes across are extremely nice to her.
And even though Ellie is part of singer Taylor Swift's famous circle of friends, she has no interest in entertaining the rumour of Taylor viewing Katy Perry as her archenemy.
"I don't think there's anyone who is not a Katy Perry fan," she noted.
Ellie is currently promoting her third studio album Delirium, which reached shelves 6 November (15).
Fellow British pop star Adele is making her third LP, entitled 25, available to the public on 20 November (15), but Ellie isn't concerned with the competition, as she wants her peers to be successful.
"I saw [Adele] a few months back and we were both talking about the fact our albums are out soon," she shared. "But I don't see anyone as competition. I'm just happy for British music. She deserves it."
