Etta James has died at the age of 73, US website TMZ reports.
Her management has reportedly confirmed that the soul legend passed away at a hospital in Riverside, California, today.
The legendary singer had reportedly been battling cancer, dementia and also suffered from Hepatitis C.
Last month, her leukemia had been declared "incurable" and her live-in doctor said she was "terminally ill".
Etta was famous for her soulful music including hit songs At Last and Something's Got A Hold On Me.
She won 6 Grammys in her lifetime - including Best Jazz Vocal Performance in 1994 - and was also voted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
