Yesterday Zane Lowe interviewed Flume and played tracks from Issues and ELEL.
Zane talked to Flume on his new album Skin and about 'Never Be Like You' with Kai:
'We had never met we just sent stuff back and fourth online…we ended up meeting up in New York, but we didn't know each other there was not really any vibe cause we just didn't
know each other. so we ended up being like alright not feeling inspired let's go for a wonder through New York and see what happens. We got our tarot cards read. Apparently i'm having three children. Came back and then totally started to work.'
About wanting to ghost produce other people's songs:
"I want go further and start doing more collaborative stuff. I wanna ghost produce someone's record maybe someone that doesn't have a profile. I wanna bring them up and start a career.'
Flume also said its likely that he and Disclosure will do an EP together at some point.
Flume talks about getting used to writing while on tour on a laptop:
"A lot of this actual record was made in all different parts of the world. Like each song almost has its own country it was wrote in."
Flume also tells the story of making the first track in Mexico after flying there by himself for his birthday, went to a little beachside surf town, got a hotel, met an old couple, had tequilas with then on the beach, and it helped break his writer block.
