Frank Ocean's 2013 Grammy Awards performance looked as good as it sounded. The Odd Future singer/songwriter used a massive screen and well-timed video footage to bring his love ode "Forrest Gump" to life, drawing a smattering of applause throughout Staples Center. No biggie, it was just Frank Ocean being Frank Ocean.
"This is a guy who has the ability to change things, and for him to change things, he has to follow his intuition," OF's manager Christian Clancy told in the days leading up to music's big night. "If he doesn't follow his intuition, then it's not real."
Is Chris Brown upset with Frank Ocean's Grammy win?
During his Channel Orange campaign, the soft-spoken songwriter has delivered a number of notable televised performances. First, there was his orchestral rendition of "Bad Religion" on "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" just days after his major-label debut was released. He followed that up with a trippy performance of "Thinkin Bout You" at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards on a desert-themed set that helped bring Ocean's vision quest alive. In September, he rocked "Pyramids" on "Saturday Night Live" and then went on to play arcade games as John Mayer strummed a soulful solo.

Never one to give the same look twice, Ocean used Sunday's award show to preview clips from his upcoming music video and deliver something that fans have never seen before. During his Grammy performance, real-life Frank moved in sync with pre-recorded Frank onscreen, making it appear as if he was singing and running on a highway surrounded by mountains.
Clancy, who co-manages the OF collective with his wife and business partner Kelly, has learned that when it comes to Frank Ocean, just let him do his thing. "The goal is to trust the guy who wrote the music to present his art, his way — Frank has incredible intuition. Just f---ing incredible," Clancy said. "He very clearly sees things; my job is to say, no matter how far out it may be, I'm going to trust that."
