Frank Ocean performed his first show of 2014 last night (5 May 2014) at New York city's prestigious Met Ball, where he performed a number of tracks but sadly, no new material. See below.
At the high-end fashion event, organised by Vogue editor Anna Wintour, Ocean performed his tracks 'Wisemen' and (perhaps appropriately considering the who's-who guest list) 'Super Rich Kids'. It was his first live performance since his Odd Future carnival show in November 2013. A number of short videos of his Met Gala performance have appeared on Instagram. See some shaky, cameraphone footage below.
Ocean is believed to be putting the finishing touches to his follow-up to hit album Channel Orange, taking to Tumblr in early April 2014 to update fans on progress on the long-awaited record.
He wrote: "I’M OPENING UP FOR OUTKAST THIS SUMMER AT PEMBERTON SO I MIGHT SKIP ON COACHELLA TO STAY IN THE GROOVE AND FINISH THIS BITCH… I FEEL LIKE THEY’RE FINNA WILD OUT THO. FUCK IT.. BRING THE HELICOPTER OUT."
