Frank Ocean confirmed to perform at the 2014 Met Gala on Monday, 5 May

It has been reported that r&b superstar Frank Ocean will be performing at this years Met Gala, his first live performance of 2014.

The fashion event, run by Anna Wintour, saw Kanye West perform to the audience last year, with a report from Billboard stating that Ocean is booked to follow up. It won't be the rappers first year at the event as last year he attended and walked the red carpet. However currently his rep has declined to comment on the speculation. It is hoped he will perform new music from his long-awaited second studio album.

Meanwhile Frank Ocean is currently gearing up to preview the follow up to Channel Orange, if statements made on his Tumblr in April are to be believed. He wrote: "I’M OPENING UP FOR OUTKAST THIS SUMMER AT PEMBERTON SO I MIGHT SKIP ON COACHELLA TO STAY IN THE GROOVE AND FINISH THIS BITCH… I FEEL LIKE THEY’RE FINNA WILD OUT THO. FUCK IT.. BRING THE HELICOPTER OUT."
