Overview
The pair was close friends in the 1980s but reportedly fell out as George’s dependency on cannabis grew and he snubbed Elton’s offers of help.
But following a stint in prison after crashing his car into a shop while under the influence of drugs, George quit the whacky baccy and built bridges with Elton before agreeing to do the fundraising gig.
Held at London’s Royal Opera House on Sunday, Elton sat proudly in the audience while his old friend performed, along with other special guests Kylie Minogue, Justin Timberlake and actor James Corden.
