George Michael was rushed to hospital in an ambulance last week, after falling ill at home on Thursday 22 May 2014.
The reason for the health scare is not known, but it has been reported that a friend phoned the emergency services after he suffered a 'mystery collapse' at his London residence. Witnesses claim that he was taken away in an ambulance after four hours at his home and was taken to a London hospital for treatment for the unknown illness. The ambulance arrived at his home at 8am on Thursday morning.
In a statement to The Sun newspaper, Michael's spokesperson claimed the hospital dash was 'routine', telling the tabloid: "George Michael was in hospital for routine tests but there is nothing further to say."
"We were called just before 8am on May 22," said a spokesperson for the ambulance service. "We sent two ambulance crews and staff treated one patient, a man, who was then taken to hospital."
