An 18-year-old German hacker, known as 'DJ Stolen', has been sentenced to eighteen months in a juvenile detention centre after being found guilty of stealing songs from Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake and a whole host of stars.
The hacker, who for legal purposes cannot be named, made over £13,000 by stealing music and personal details from Leona Lewis, Ke$ha and Mariah Carey.
He did this by using Trojan Horse software and phishing emails to steal unpublished material, and then offering to sell them on, BBC Radio 1 Newsbeat reports.
The teenager, named in court as Deniz A, also stole explicit images from Ke$ha's personal computer, leaking them onto the internet.
At the centre, he will undergo treatment for addiction to the internet.
He has written to Lady Gaga apologising for his actions.
Another hacker, who is 23, was given an 18-month suspended sentence for his part in the offences.
