Gwen Stefani is gearing up to embark on her first solo tour in nearly a decade.
The pop star's latest album This Is What the Truth Feels Like was released in March (16). Gwen later confirmed she would be going on a 27-date summer tour, where she will be joined by fellow Grammy Award winner and former collaborator Eve, who will serve as her opening act.
Speaking at the Radio Disney Music Awards on Saturday night (30Apr16), Gwen shared that as this new tour will be her first major solo outing since The Sweet Escape Tour in 2007, she is very excited about reconnecting with her fans.
"I haven't toured in, you know a long time," she told Access Hollywood. "I know that when I tour, you actually see those faces, the people that supported me all these years."
While her latest release was somewhat inspired by her divorce from husband Gavin Rossdale last year (15), the mother-of three is adamant that her new tour will be a positive experience.
"To go live with this music, it's going to be very healing," she explained.
"It's like every time you give up yourself you receive with the music, it's such a beautiful exchange, I know it so well, but I haven't been able to do it. I'm gonna put those boys in the bus and we're going to go around... It's going to be a short tour but I think it's going to be magic."
The Used to Love You singer was presented with the 2016 Ardy Hero Award at the Radio Disney ceremony, and she described the honour as "surreal" because her hometown is Anaheim, California - the birthplace of Disneyland.
Also joining Gwen at the event was her boyfriend, Blake Shelton. The 39-year-old country crooner began dating his The Voice co-star in November last year (15), and things appear to be going strong between the couple, with the pair seen holding hands throughout the ceremony.
The audience at the Microsoft Theater sweetly gave Gwen a standing ovation, and the singer seemed both shocked and elated to take home the award.
"This is crazy that this is happening to me... I mean who am I that I would ever make a difference?" she said on stage. "I am so honoured to be here."
This Is What the Truth Feels Like tour kicks off July 12 (16) at the Xfinity Center in Mansfield, Massachusetts and concludes on October 15 (16) at The Forum in Inglewood, California.
