The former Hills stars have filed legal documents at a Los Angeles court – which were signed by Montag’s lawyer Jodeane Farrell – asking a judge to dismiss the “entire action of all parties and all causes of action”.
The papers were received by Santa Monica courthouse on Tuesday and officially filed the following day, according to reports.
“We are back together and trying to make things work,” said the couple, who claim to have reconciled after spending time together recently in Costa Rica.
“Costa Rica really put things in perspective. We do love each other and realised we want to spend the rest of our lives together.”
The fame-hungry duo had a 15-minute wedding ceremony in Mexico in November 2008, before making their marriage official in front of family and friends in California five months later.
But Montag called time on the relationship just 14 months after they had tied the knot and filed for legal separation from 27-year-old Pratt in June this year, citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split.
The divorce papers followed on 30 July.
The couple, who shot to fame after they starred together in the MTV reality show, have now resumed their husband and wife status.
