Youth Music has teamed up with Angel Music Group, promoters of the Ian Brown-headlined Hi:Fi Festival - the new super-sized music event that offers something for everyone by bridging the gap between out and out dance music and rock - to spread the message of the importance of music in the lives of young people. The festival will simultaneously take place in both the North and South of England during the last Bank Holiday Weekend in May.
Building on previous successes, the highlight of the association will be a national competition to offer two lucky winners between the ages of 14 - 18, the ultimate opportunity to open the North and South sites of the 2006 Hi:Fi festival on Saturday and Sunday, May 27-28th. The winning band will perform at Hi:Fi North and a DJ at Hi:Fi South.
Competition entrants will be required to submit a demo CD which includes either: 2 original tracks produced by them, or a 15min DJ mix done by them.
Hi:Fi's schedule looks set to be a festival stormer with Ian Brown headlining north and south events. Maximo Park, The Editors, Sasha, Paul Oakenfold and Audio Bullys are confirmed for Hi:Fi North, while Hard Fi, Sasha, Oakie, Carl Cox, Roni Size and 2ManyDJs are set to wow the crowds down south.
The competition, which opens March 17th, 2006, will be hosted on Youth Music's SoundStation website, www.soundstation.org.uk/HiFiFestival2006. Closing date is April 21st, 2006.document.write(unescape("
