Hugh Jackman has revealed that he is grateful to be able to enjoy his acting career.
The Autstralian struggled at first, but has now blossomed into one of Hollywood's most bankable stars, as well as becoming an acclaimed Broadway actor.
Speaking at the premiere of Real Steel in London, The Wolverine star told Bang! Showbiz: "When I started acting I wasn't very good so I'm constantly just thrilled I'm not being kicked out."
When asked about what characters he likes to play, Jackman replied: "I love playing flawed characters because I think drama films are about conflicts.
"I enjoy playing tough guys in movies because I'm really pretty boring in real life. I just get to be much more interesting on screen."
Moving on to his plans to return to the stage, he said: "This movie (Real Steel) has [been] one of my favourites to do but ultimately I prefer the stage.
"I can't wait to go back to Broadway again later this year."
Jackman's one man stage show, Hugh Jackman, Back on Broadway will open for previews at The Broadhurst Theatre, New York, on October 25, with the official opening night on November 10.
