Hugh Jackman has announced that he is to return to the Broadway stage.
The Tony-winning star clearly has his heart set on musical theatre at the moment, for he is following up his casting in the movie version of Les Miserables with plans to put on a show that will feature a selection of his favourite musical numbers, as well as songs that reflect his stage and film career.
Hugh Jackman, Back on Broadway will open for previews at The Broadhurst Theatre on October 25, with the official opening night on November 10.
It will run until January 1, 2012.
Jackman announced: "I can't believe it's been seven years since I was singing and dancing on Broadway. There is nothing like performing on the Great White Way and I'm so excited to be coming 'home'."
Jackman won a Tony, theatre's most prestigious award, for The Boy From Oz, in 2004.
