Liv Tyler has confessed that she wishes that she was part of The Hobbit.
Tyler played Elf maiden Arwen Undómiel in Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy, but her character doesn't feature in the prequel.
She told PopEater: "I'm definitely not in The Hobbit and I actually don't know anything about it. I realised I need to call my friends in New Zealand to ask them what's going on so I have some facts when I get asked questions about it."
Asked if she was disappointed not to figure in Jackson's adaptation of the JRR Tolkien novel, she explained: "Kind of secretly, [though] maybe desperate is the wrong word to use. I would love to go back there and bring my son to New Zealand and see all those amazing people. It was such a magical experience."
Martin Freeman replaces Ian Holm as Bilbo Baggins in the two part Hobbit saga, the first installment of which, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, is released in December 2012.
