Jake Bugg joined Absolute Radio's Pete Donaldson backstage for an exclusive interview before he took to the Isle of Wight Festival for the very first time.
JAKE IS ENJOYING HIS FESTIVAL EXPERIENCE
"This is my first really proper outdoor festival. Certainly festivals are great for introducing new music to people that may not know it or even know you. So it's great for that."
SECOND ALBUM ON THE WAY
"I'm half way through it. I just want to make sure I'm happy with it and I want it to try and be better. Whether it will be or not it's not for me to say. It's for the people that go out there and get it but, no I'm pretty happy with it so far."
JAKE WANTS TO PUT OUT AS MUCH MUSIC AS POSSIBLE
"As someone who listens to music a lot, I can get bored with albums and songs very quickly and you want something to keep refreshing you and keeping you excited so I want to put something out there for people to listen to. At the same time I don't want to rush it either. I don't want to put it out there if i'm not happy with it."
JAKE TALKS ABOUT THE WRITING PROCESS
"Usually all ideas can come all at once. And then sometimes you go through days where you're not coming up with anything. So you know I quite like it when I'm getting a lot of ideas at one time it gives you a lot to work with."
JAKE WOWED BY WORKING WITH CHILLI PEPPERS DRUMMER CHAD SMITH
"I didn't know who Chad was to be honest, obviously I knew who the Red Hot Chilli Peppers were and then he started playing and I was like wow you know. It was pretty amazing. It was such a cool vibe and so I can't wait to get back in and try and finish it up and hopefully get it out there later this year or even early next year."
JAKE BUGG IS BIG IN JAPAN
"Japan was great man. Like Japan was mad. They have like smoking areas in the street which is really weird. You can't smoke on the street but you can smoke in bars. I've got a couple of festivals out there, like Summer Sonic and all that which is going to be ridiculously humid so I'm led to believe."
