Janet Jackson has had to cut short her sold-out Australian tour and return home to the USA for discussions with her family regarding her late brother Michael.
Janet will return to Australia next month to make up her postponed Melbourne shows. The logistics for rescheduling the shows meant that the three intimate Melbourne shows needs to be combined into one show at the Rod Laver Arena on November 3rd.
Promoter Paul Dainty tried for three consecutive dates at the same venue, The State Theatre but the combination did not work on the dates that Janet had for her return, so instead, an intimate set-up at Rod Laver Arena has been arranged instead.
"It is important that Janet is with her family at this critical point in the hearing. While Janet and our company apologize for any inconvenience for the reschedule of the Melbourne shows, we thank Janet for the great and successful concerts in Perth and Adelaide and eagerly await her return. I'm sure the rescheduled concert on November 3 will be a very, very special night. Our thoughts and prayers are with Janet and the entire Jackson family," promoter Paul Dainty said.
Janet has had to be with her family as the Dr Conrad Murray hearing comes to a conclusion. " I want to thank my fans in Australia for their love, support and understanding. When I planned these shows, the schedule in California was completely different. After talking with my family last night, I decided we must be together right now. I'm looking forward to being with you for the Gold Coast, Sydney, and the Melbourne concerts. You are all so important to me. This saddens me in so many ways. I love you," said Janet Jackson in this exclusive statement.
All ticket holders for the three Melbourne shows will be contacted soon about seating relocation for the Rod Laver Arena show on November 3rd.
