Derulo, 22, will be hosting the show with Dixon in Glasgow on October 5 and admitted he's out of his comfort zone.
He said to British newspaper Daily Star: 'I've never hosted anything, not even a birthday party, so it's going to be very different but I'm sure I'll rock it out.
'I had a bad experience with the tele-prompter at an awards show in America. I was announcing a winner, and the tele-prompter was a little far for my eyes.
'So I said the lines of the girl I was on stage with. That was a bad experience but hopefully the words at the MOBOs will be a little bigger.'
