It was probably inevitable, given the song's success and the fact that Jay-Z and Kanye West performed it approximately 736 times during their Watch the Throne tour, but now, Pitbull has put his own unique spin on a remix of "N---as in Paris," called, appropriately enough, "Latinos in Paris."
In the new version of the song — which features Will Ferrell's now ubiquitous "We're going to skate to one song and one song only" but unfortunately skips the whole "it gets people going!" bit — Pit and fellow rapper Sensato drop verses in English and Spanish and tell the tale of a pair of "chicos" wilding out in Paris. The accompanying video, which was directed by Pitbull, combines candid behind-the-scenes (much private-jet dancing) and performance footage with shots of the pair rapping in front of the Eiffel Tower and bounding throughout the streets of France's capital city.
Pitbull's "Latinos in Paris" is just the latest remix of what has become perhaps the hip-hop anthem of 2011. T.I. dropped his version back in October, and a slew of other big-name stars — including Chris Brown, T-Pain, Game, Trey Songz, Young Jeezy and Busta Rhymes — have also done verses over producer Hit-Boy's lilting beat.
Despite the song's mass appeal, Jay and Kanye have yet to release an actual video for it, though, during their run of sold-out shows at Los Angeles' Staples Center last month, they reportedly told the crowd that a live clip shot at the venue would be coming shortly.
