The rapper is due to take to the stage to mark the launch of new hotel The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas on December 31. According to reports, the star has asked for the large amount of rooms to ensure everyone travelling with him has somewhere to stay.
“Jay-Z is taking up a whopping 50 rooms for the lavish opening of The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas,” reports the New York Post. “The star, who's performing at the event along with Coldplay on New Year's Eve, has ‘requested the rooms for his entourage and for his personal security,’ a source told us.”
Coldplay will also perform at the launch, although reports singer Chris Martin’s wife Gwyneth Paltrow would take to the stage have since been shot down.
The party is due to be a star-studded affair, with a number of high-profile guests appearing including Jay-Z’s wife Beyoncé Knowles. Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, Alex Rodriguez, Mark Wahlberg, Kristin Davis, Ellen Pompeo and Kellan Lutz are also rumoured to be attending.
Jay-Z’s spokesperson hasn’t commented on the report, and a hotel representative said they do not discuss guests.
