Overview
The husband of Beyonce, a partial owner of the basketball team, will perform a number of concerts at the Barclays Center when it opens as the squad's new home in 2012.
Jay-Z, 41, said at a press conference: 'This is where I'm from, I'll always be Brooklyn, and opening this arena will mean more to me than anywhere else.'
According to Gossip Cop, the Jay-Z might perform at eight shows, although that has not yet been confirmed.
The basketball team will be renamed the Brooklyn Nets when they move there from New Jersey next year.
