Jay-Z 'warms hearts' when around daughter

Jay-Z's mother Gloria reveals the rapper "just melts" when he is in his daughter's presence.

The 43-year-old rapper shares 16-month-old Blue Ivy with singer Beyoncé Knowles.

Gloria is filled with mirth whenever she witnesses her son spend time with his little one.

"It warms my heart to see how he interacts with his daughter," she told Us Weekly. "And when she says, 'Papa,' he just melts. He's a great dad."

Gloria raised three children of her own as a single mother.

Apparently being a grandmother is much more fun.

"The amazing thing about being a grandmother is that you go get the kids, but when you're tired, you can take them home!" Gloria laughed.

Gloria can't wait to spend time with Blue Ivy herself.

The little bundle of joy keeps her entertained for hours.

"She's very very smart," Gloria said. "But [the TV show Babies Choice] teaches the babies that when you say hello, that means you're going to be around. But when you say, 'bye bye,' it means you're going to disappear. So when you're around her, when she looks at you and she's tired of you, she looks at you and she says, 'bye bye!'

"So with me I'm like, 'No bye bye! No bye bye!'"

Speculation is rife Beyoncé is currently pregnant with her and Jay-Z's second child.

Although some have dismissed the hearsay as "silly", Gloria reveals expanding their brood may be on the agenda.

"I think so!" she said in response to whether or not she believed the superstars want more children.
