Former Tea Party frontman Jeff Martin has formed a new trio with two former members of The Sleepy Jackson.
'The new band is Jay Cortez formerly of The Armada but he was also part of The Sleepy Jackson, and Malcolm Clark who was also in the Sleepy Jackson,' Jeff tells Undercover News. 'Malcolm was a well-known session musician in Australia and has played with Basement Birds and Bob Evans. The combination of the two of them plus myself with an incredible rhythm section behind me makes a very credible rock trio again. I am very excited about the future'.
The band is yet to be named. ' don't want to confuse people,' Jeff says. 't just might be something simple like The Jeff Martin Band. We'll sort it out. The most important thing right now is the music and that is what we are recording in Perth at the moment'.
Expect a release for the new Jeff Martin trio early 2011. 't will be mixed at 301 in November and out at the beginning of the year,' he says.
Martin moved to Australia in 2008. He has a house in Perth and a house in Byron Bay.
