Jessie J has thanked Darcus Beese for understanding her passion.
The singer is signed to Island Records, which Darcus is co-president of. He was recently made an OBE by Britain's Duke of Cambridge and 26-year-old Jessie has taken to Instagram to share how much he deserves the honour.
"There are 2 types of people in this music industry. Type 1- Bodies in suits pretending they understand and even like music. Tapping their feet out of time, making decisions based on money and telling you are great only when they need something from you," she wrote on the social networking site.
"THEN there is type 2- MAN like @darcuscb who live, breathe for great MUSIC! Who grind, care, enjoy and love what artists stand for and do all they can to push artists vision into the world. Darcus you signed me in the UK 5 years ago to @islandrecordsuk you always have had time for me, advice to share and a great understanding of sometimes how hard it can be for me and never given up. Understood my passion and treated me like a grown women! (sic)"
She attached a picture of the moment Darcus received his OBE. Jessie added the occasion must be celebrated because the businessman has been there through all her ups and downs.
"Your love to keep great music alive has been recognised and I am so HAPPY for you! I believe in you SO MUCH! I wouldn't be where I am today with you. So thank you. God bless you and your journey. It's only just the beginning D. You got this! (sic)" she finished the post.
Jessie is also enjoying a career high promoting new album Sweet Talker.
