Jessie J says her new single is "a dedication to God".
The 25-year-old singer is preparing to release her latest track Thunder next week.
And the songstress reveals the tune was inspired greatly by her Christian faith.
"Thunder is a dedication to God," she told British newspaper The Mirror.
"That's why in the video I'm levitating – that feeling of being lifted to the light."
Jessie reveals her religion took on an important role in the development of her entire second album.
The songstress claims her LP Alive was written as a sincere expression of her spirituality.
"I remember I prayed a lot when I worked on this album and it's not something I've ever spoken about openly," Jessie shared.
"I've very much enjoyed bringing my beliefs onto the album. I think it's important that whatever your beliefs are you use them in your day-to-day life."
Jessie is hoping for spiritual grace when she spends time in the kitchen cooking for her family this Christmas.
Despite her anxiety over preparing the special meal for the first time, the busy star is convinced downtime with her relatives will be wonderful.
"I'm preparing to check my smoke alarms and make sure I've got enough pans and my oven's big enough," she joked.
"I'm excited to cater for six of us and spend time with my family. Just a few days with nothing in my diary is rare."
