Jessie J was "gutted" to discover not all kings wear crowns.
The 25-year-old British singer performed at the 12th Mawazine World Rhythms International Music Festival in Rabat, Morocco, over the weekend.
Jessie was introduced to the King of Morocco after her stage performance, but admits the experience a bit of a letdown.
"At the weekend I was at the Mawazine festival, it was my first time in Morocco. It was like a turn up and rave kind of thing; it was my first festival of the season. I was snapped with no trousers and no hair, but I was like, 'It is what it is.' I was led to believe it was going to be 100 degrees heat over there so I was like, 'I'll wear what I want to wear,'" Jessie told BBC Radio 1. "Then I was asked to go and meet the king as he was there. He doesn't wear a crown, I was so gutted. He was just a man in a suit."
Jessie tweeted pictures from her trip, including a photo of her pretending to fly a private jet. The down-to-earth star has flown in a personal aircraft before, but it doesn't impress her as she is scared of flying.
"I've been in a private jet before," she continued. "I'm not the easiest at flying so whether it's a private jet or easyJet, it doesn't matter to me; it's just all the same."
Jessie is promoting her newly released single Wild, which features rappers Big Sean and Dizzee Rascal.
The song is the first track to be taken from her forthcoming second album, which Jessie is keeping top secret.
"[The new single] has gone to number one in Romania already," she gushed. "I can't say too much about the album, but it will be out way before Christmas. It is out this year, it's out soon; OK, that's all I can say. For me, I feel like a different person now to how I was when I wrote my first album. I was 17 then but I'm 25 now; I'm a grown woman."
