Speaking on The Today Show, where she also performed her chart-topping track Price Tag, she said: “I am a very emotional, honest singer-songwriter from London. I just want to change the world with my music.”
The 23-year-old British songstress, real name Jessica Ellen Cornish, is rapidly achieving international acclaim, with Justin Timberlake recently calling her “the best singer in the world right now”.
Her debut album, Who You Are, is currently topping music charts around the world and she has previously written hits for US artists including Chris Brown and Miley Cyrus.
When asked why she had waited so long for her turn in the limelight, she said: 'I don't think you can rush art.'
