Jessie J reportedly "misjudged" what the US wants.
The British singer is currently promoting her new album Sweet Talker and has made no secret of the fact she's hoping to win over fans across the pond.
Part of her American takeover included appearing on Dancing with the Stars, where she performed before acting as guest judge. But it ended in the 26-year-old getting booed by the audience when she offered up low scores and harsh critiques.
"This was supposed to be Jessie's big chance to make the States fall in love with her, but she completely misjudged it," an insider admitted to British magazine Star.
"They were turned off by her b***hy comments and low scoring. She really didn't come across as endearing to the viewers."
Jessie gave the first dancer of the night a six and continued to offer the lowest scores of all the judges. Many complained about her sharp tongue on Twitter, slamming her singing performance too.
But it seems the star is still set on making it big in the US. However, she recently emphasised her British fans needn't worry.
"I'm not abandoning anyone," she assured her UK fans in British newspaper The Daily Star. "I'm a 26-year-old woman and if I want to live in LA I can. I'm British-born and bred. Whether I live in LA, Paris or Taiwan, it's my choice.
"I love my fans in the UK I just feel like they've had me for a long time. Any change is hard for them to get used to but they're gonna have to get used to it a little bit, because the US is calling me."
