UK pop sensation Jessie J has spoken about getting her song dropped from Britney's forthcoming album.
Jessie J, who has been storming the charts in the UK with the 'Price tag' single featuring B.o.B, was one of many artists who pitched songs to Spears for her album Femme Fatale, which was just released.
Ke$ha scored with the opening song, but Jessie J wasn't so lucky with the tune she submitted, called 'Being Britney'.
She spoke to MTV about her tune getting rejected, and seems to be taking it all in her stride.
She said, 'To even have the opportunity to write a song for [Britney Spears] is still incredible. As a songwriter, I'm still taking baby steps. You have to write ten songs to get one good one and, realistically, I don't have time to write ten. It was a good song though.
She said the title and the subject matter might stymie the idea of pitching it to another artist because it was specifically for Ms Spears.
't was a really cool song, but it is what it is; it happens for a reason,' she said. 'For me, one thing I love about Britney Spears is she is Britney Spears: No one can come and try and steal her path, her lane and that's what I love about her. That's what the song is about, 'I'm the shit'.'
