Joan Rivers` tears at visiting the home she raised her family in

While househunting nearby, Joan and Melissa dropped by while filming their reality TV show Joan & Melissa: Joan Knows Best and were invited in by the current owners - and Joan could not hide her tears at the happy memories.

'This living room - do you remember Johnny Carson, Laurence Olivier, Alec Guinness... I mean the people that came in here and sat in here. It made me very happy that the house is loved. It brought back everything,' she said.

She was particularly moved when the owners handed her some post that had arrived for her late husband that they had kept in case she ever came.

'How generous of them to have saved it - what lovely people. If I had to have handpicked people to give this home to I would've picked them.'

In a lighter moment, she went shopping for sexy clothes for her daughter - and ended up trying on lingerie herself, much to Melissa's horror. She also got her thumb trapped in a bowling ball while out with her grandson.
