Joe Jackson has dropped his wrongful death claim against Dr Conrad Murray.
Murray is currently in jail serving his sentence after being convicted of Michael Jackson's involuntary manslaughter following his death of acute Propofol intoxication in June 2009.
The King of Pop's father Joe filed the lawsuit against the former physician on the anniversary of his son's death in June 2010.
TMZ has obtained a court document filed Wednesday asking the judge to dismiss the dispute without prejudice.
Although the case with Murray is now dropped, Joe is still a nominal party in Katherine Jackson's civil suit against AEG, the concert promoters for late Michael's This Is It tour.
The claimants allege that AEG was negligent for hiring Murray to look after Michael during his shows. They claim that the company breached its contract to provide proper physical care for the singer.
The AEG lawsuit is scheduled to be heard in court at trial in April 2013.
