Rapper Joey Bada$$, whose group's name appeared on a shirt in President Obama's daughter Malia's selfie, talks with Billboard about his inspirations, and what's next for the budding rapper.
He jokes about the high stakes after the Malia Obama selfie, telling Billboard, "My phone is tapped!"
He continues to discuss his responsibility as a role model to the kids who listen to his music.
"I make sure the kids are not corrupted by what I'm saying," he says. "I do hold that responsibility over my head. I know there's some kids who look at me and will listen to me before they'll listen to any of their teachers. That's important, and I accept that responsibility."
The young rapper also shares that he has no plans on slowing down any time soon. "They don't want me infiltrating my people's minds with this good shit -- and I won't stop," he says.
