John Mayer secretly bought his fan a guitar at a music store.
The musician popped by Rudy's Music in New York City on Friday with his pop star girlfriend Katy Perry.
At the establishment John visited with aspiring artist Julie Fermin, one of his biggest fans. He made Julie's day when he covertly purchased an instrument for her before he left.
"I started crying and screaming," the 16-year-old told People magazine. "I was the luckiest and happiest person alive.
"[My friends and I] started freaking out and getting super excited."
The kind gesture happened after Julie told John she had been playing guitar since she was 11 years old.
He then requested that she point out the product she liked best before he exited the shop, discreetly handing over money to staff on his way out.
"I was so shocked," she confessed. "I cannot describe all the emotions I was feeling at that moment."
Apparently John, 35, and his 28-year-old love spoke to the group of girls about tunes and Katy even took a snap of one lady's earring which she liked.
According to employee Brad Tertola they were very respectful and down to earth.
"They treated them so beautifully," the shop attendant observed. "They were just so comfortable and sweet and as nice as any couple.
"I was so happy about it. I experienced first-hand the kind of sweet guy John is. He and Katy are just wonderful people."
Katy and John recently reconciled their relationship despite splitting for the second time in March.
He called her "incredible" during a concert in Milwaukee at the weekend.
John explained to audiences that she was patient with him while he recovered from throat surgery.
He then dedicated his song called A Face to Call Home to her, saying "To Katy, who is my face to call home".
