John Mayer is reportedly keen to create a "sanctuary" for him and Katy Perry.
The couple's relationship has been going so well over the past month that they are rumoured to be preparing to take things to the next level.
Katy has been linked to the notorious womaniser since July last year.
After a turbulent period of on and off dating, things seem to have now settled down between them.
In an attempt to show his commitment to his new sweetheart, John is apparently the one who is pushing for them to move in together.
"John wants to take his relationship with Katy to the next level. He has suggested to Katy that they get a place of their own. He feels like she's the one for him and wants to commit himself fully," and insider shared with HollwoodLife.com. "John is really into architecture and wants to create a 'sanctuary' for himself and Katy."
Things between Katy and John were first thought to be getting serious after they attended a Broadway show together in December.
This surprise display of unity followed the couple's reported split in October as a result of John's "wandering eye and inattentive ways."
"John just can't commit, and he kept luring Katy back with promises that he was going to change, but then he didn't," a source told US magazine Star at the time.
"She needs the guy to be on board 100 per cent, and she was sick of John disappearing for five days at a time, then booty calling her, then straightening up and treating her well, only to go back to his old behaviour a few days later."
