Julianne Hough chops her long locks off

The Footloose actress – who has lost her long blonde curls and opted instead for a tousled shoulder-length bob – unveiled her new do at the Hollywood Film Awards in Beverly Hills on Monday.

A witness at the Los Angeles Nine Zero One salon where the 23-year-old got the cut last Thursday said that she seemed ready for a change.

'She was in a super good mood because it was her first day being done with all her [Footloose] press,' the witness told Us Weekly. 'She wanted to cut her hair off to get it healthy from all the styling since she doesn't work until the New Year.'

Hough herself has previously revealed that you get what you pay for when it comes to hair care.

'It costs a lot of money to get your hair done - it's not cheap - but you don't want to ruin it, and you want you go to the best person and the person who's going to keep it healthy,' she told the magazine back in February.
