(Cover) - EN Movies - Julianne Hough felt like one of "the biggest rock stars in the entire world" while shooting new movie Rock of Ages.
The dancer stars alongside the likes of Tom Cruise and Catherine Zeta-Jones and portrays small town girl Sherrie Christian, who goes to Hollywood to pursue her dreams.
Recalling her favourite moment from the musical drama, the 23-year-old chose singing on stage with Tom's character Stacee Jaxx.
"It is the very last number when we are up on stage singing Don't Stop Believin'. It is with Stacee Jaxx, Sherrie, and Drew. We are on the stage. At the time when we were shooting, it literally felt like we were the biggest rock stars in the entire world. There was the whole arena that was filled and we were literally singing too. It was so fun. I had the time of my life on that," she told movie website Collider.
Julianne also spoke about paying tribute to the cult '80s era in a way that highlights its uniqueness without mocking it.
The blonde beauty explained that it was important not to take the caricatures of the period too far because so many people had great life experiences during this time.
"[The performances] They are definitely caricatures. But at the same time, it is definitely a heightened reality. We didn't want to go so far to make fun of the '80s era because that was a time… People were literally wearing their hair that way and dressing that way and being very free and open," she said. "Honestly, it is really fun, beyond entertaining. It's hilarious in some parts, it's emotional in some parts, and it's really funny in some others."
