Jay-Z has brought in Kanye West and his protégé No ID to produce his next album 'Blueprint 3'.
The news is a bitch-slap to Timbaland who had been talking up that he was going to drive the album.
Timbaland recently told MTV that he "was making a classic. You better believe me, it will be a monster. We want to go out into the world," he said of a possible Jay-Z collaboration.
But he was wrong. It ain't happening. Jay-Z has brought in Kanye West over Timbaland for his next record 'Blueprint 3'.
On Wednesday night, Kanye West unveiled one of the songs 'Dope Boy Fresh', or as it is also known, 'Jockin' Jay-Z' from the album to his audience at Madison Square Garden. Not only did the New York audience get a first listen to the new Jay-Z sounds, but Jay-Z himself then walked out on stage for a guest rap.
The first 'Blueprint' album was released in 2001. West produced four of the 13 tracks on the album.
The sequel 'The Blueprint 2: The Gift and the Curse' was released in 2002. It featured the collaboration 'Bonnie and Clyde' with Jay-Z's future bride Beyonce.
Jay-Z has had to deny Timbaland's claim that he was producing the album.
'The Blueprint 3' is expected to be released this year.
