Overview
According to Entertainment Weekly, Don't Be Afraid of the Dark will be released on August 12.
The movie, a revamped version of a TV film from 1973, was produced and co-written by Guillermo Del Toro and directed by Troy Nixey.
The film tells the story of a woman who moves into a new house only to find out the creatures that live there want to make her one of their own.
The release date was delayed last year after an incident at Miramax's then-parent company Disney, which has since been sold.
Holmes' boyfriend in the film is played by Guy Pearce.
