Katy Perry has said the death of Amy Winehouse made her feel “really sad” and said she hopes the singer “finds peace”.
Winehouse was found dead at her flat in Camden, North London on Saturday (July 23). She was 27.
Perry also spoke about a tribute her husband and friend of Winehouse Russell Brand wrote on his official website, in which he called her a “f*cking genius”.
“My heart felt really sad,” Perry said on Good Morning America.
“My husband, who has been clean and sober for almost nine years, you know, I see him working a program and working on himself every single day.
“And I see how much work it takes to be clean and sober when you have, you know, addiction on your hands.”
She added: “It gave me a real a gratefulness for my husband, who got clean when he was 27. I feel really sad and I just hope she finds peace.”
Winehouse's funeral will take place today (July 26).
