Katy Perry announced the release date for her next album on a gold semi-truck.
The Firework hitmaker has been hard at work on her upcoming record, Prism.
Fans in Los Angeles were the first to get the news about when it's scheduled for release as the blinding semi rolled down the city's busy streets.
A photo obtained by E! News reveals the date.
"Katy Perry, Prism, 10.22.13," reads the black text emblazoned on the side of the truck.
The singer revealed other cities will soon see the gold semi wheeling around.
"Find the #PRISM semi, take a picture and I'll RT you. Don't worry, Los Angeles is just the first stop on the map," she tweeted.
Katy's stylist, Johnny Wujek, also shared a photo of the unusual announcement.
"Wahoo. My girls new album is announced. PRISM. 10.22.13. Get ready to be enLIGHTened #you'reGonnaflip.," Johnny wrote.
Prism is Katy's fourth album, and her first since 2010's Teenage Dream.
The 28-year-old's frequent collaborator, songwriter Bonnie McKee, recently said fans can expect a more "mature" sound from the star.
Bonnie worked with Katy on California Gurls, Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.), Part of Me and Wide Awake.
"I think it's a little bit more grown up and it's really interesting," she told MTV News.
"I'm really excited for the world to hear it because she's just... she's taking a new approach. And I don't want to say too much about it, but it's definitely different. It's definitely a little more mature than the California Gurls of yesterday."
