And Katy made it clear the couple plan to have children, insisting her new husband will be 'a great husband and father'.
However, she hinted that their union may not always have been plain sailing, as she admitted they are 'at different places in our lives'.
But Katy, who turned 26 last week, insists Russell could not be any better for her.
'I always knew I wanted a great man of God, someone who is going to be an inspiration for people and also be a great husband and father,' she told a US magazine.
'We're at different places in our lives, but we can still grow together.'
