Hollywood heavyweight Harvey Weinstein is convinced the I Kissed A Girl singer would be perfect for his stage version of My Week with Marilyn.
Weinstein's studio has Michelle Williams playing America’s most famous sex symbol in the movie version, with Heath Ledger's ex already an Oscar favourite for her role.
“I think Katy would be perfect to play Marilyn Monroe,” said Weinstein, who runs The Weinstein Co. with his brother, Bob.
“She would knock it out of the universe.”
My Week with Marilyn is based on the memoirs of Colin Clark, who spent a week with Monroe in 1957 while she filmed The Prince and the Showgirl in the UK.
