Katy Perry dismisses spider reports

The 26-year-old was reported to have had a painful start to the start of her marriage after an encounter with a tropical spider.

The Firework singer headed to the Maldives for a romantic break with hubby Russell Brand, 35, after getting married last month in India.

Although within days of arriving, Perry was said to have developed a nasty rash from the bite.

But Katy, who is set to perform this week at the upcoming MTV European Music Awards, has denied these 'false' reports.

Katy tweeted: 'I've not been bitten by a spider.

'I'll file this one in the ever growing cabinet of false information that has been at its PEAK as of late...'
