'Price Tag' singer Jessie met the US star in Australia last week, where she asked her how best to deal with her sudden rise to fame.
She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "It's nice to meet someone that has been through what I'm going through. In the bad times, you need someone to give you a hug.
"She told me to make sure I keep people I love around me. I didn't mean to get that serious, I was only meeting her for a minute and I was like, 'Can I have a counselling session please?'
"She's super cool, very funny and almost looks unreal. She's perfect."
Jessie - who won the Critics' Choice at the 2011 BRIT Awards - has recently admitted she finds coping with certain aspects of her new life as a pop star difficult.
A fan on twitter asked her: "Living the dream and flying from country to country-is it fun or exhausting?? and by the way, you are amazing:):) (sic)," prompting her to reply: "Its so much fun :) but sometimes it is very tiring, but success and living the dream doesnt come without hardwork :) (sic)"
